Had the old spare tire removed and a used, but serviceable, tire put on the rim.

Misc prep for the show this weekend
Did a bunch of miscellaneous stuff in preparation for the show this weekend.
Belt squeaking?
Drove it back to storage after the repairs at Ray’s. There was a horrible squeaking for the first half of the trip (when accelerating from a stop), but it eventually went away. I hope it’s just a belt squeaking…
Wheel and bumper done
Ray’s finished replacing the cracked brake drum and installing the new bumper. I’ll pick up the car later this evening and shuttle it back to storage with Bob’s help.
Brake drum cracked!
Ray called. The left front brake drum cracked while they were replacing the lug studs. I told him to go ahead and order another.
Studs not available!
Ray called. Left-hand threaded studs are no long available. We’ll replace all five studs on that wheel with right-hand studs.
Note to self: Now all the wheels will be standard (right-hand) threads except the driver side rear.
Took it to Ray’s for minor work
Took it to Ray’s to have 2 new lug studs installed and the bumper replaced with the new one.
Installed new rubber hood bumpers
Installed new rubber hood bumpers — 2 on each side and 2 in front
Ball joints on order
Got a call from Brandi at Ray’s. They found the ball joints and will order them. They should arrive in 3 to 5 days, so I can expect a call early next week to schedule the installation.
No parts info yet
Stopped by Ray’s Alignments to check on the ball joints, since I have not yet heard from him. The shop was real busy, and his daughter Brandi (who works the front desk) was out for a couple days, so he’s behind schedule. I told him no problem.
