Well, technically, I hauled her to the storage facility where she will sit until I can get back to working on her next spring.

Dropped it off at the body shop
Dropped the car off at the body shop to start the bodywork and paint. Estimated time to completion: 2 weeks. They invited me to stop by and check on the progress, and I plan to do so and take photos.
Got paint and bodywork estimates
Gerber said about 200 hrs at $50 per hour! Maaco was considerably cheaper. Didn’t try anywhere else … at least not yet.
It seems like so many of paint and body shops don’t want to touch “antique” cars — or anything other than insurance-covered collision repairs. You can’t find a paint job under about $10k from most of these shops! The thing these people don’t seem to understand is that I am not trying to create a perfect, Concours quality “trailer queen.” (I just want a decent paint job to make a fun vehicle for driving around and going to cruise nights and such.)
Discussed ISP option
Since it’s so close to the ISP color, rather than try to paint it white like my original car, we discussed turning it into another squad car recreation in its original color. I’m seriously considering doing so …
Saw it in person for first time
Talked to Barry. Looks pretty good; better than expected! Needs new windshield (cracked along lower edge; usable for now as-is), and rust-through in right front fender repaired. Needs battery charged or replaced.
I’m excited…
